Summary of Job Description:

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for achieving optimal arrangements related to the assigned PRG products.This position owns the day-to-day management, supporting the selection, evaluation, and negotiation for assigned PRG items, ensuring that the suppliers selected fit Panda's culture and philosophy, have the necessary capacity, provide the items at the best price and highest quality.This position assists with sourcing new suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Owns and develop sourcing strategy using the 10-step strategic sourcing process for assigned PRG products in support of its business strategy and plan. With support of supervisor, identifies suppliers for assigned items and arranges optimal contracts in terms of pricing, quality, timing, and supply availability over the term of the contract.Ensures costs are within budget.
  • Identifies and evaluates potential suppliers to support overall business strategy and growth in coordination with FSQA to ensure safety for consumption.Negotiates with new suppliers over cost and collaborates with Supply Management team to bring products into distribution
  • Develops strong supplier relationships and leads cost reduction projects and initiatives. Supports quarterly business reviews, evaluates supplier performance.
  • Collaborates with PMO and/or supports cross-functional projects with departments such as FSQA, Product Development, Marketing, and Operations related to product specifications, quality inquiries, product recall, sourcing new ingredients, testing new products, and phasing in products within distribution.
  • Understands assigned categories as a commodity expert. Tracks commodities markets on prices and supply and communicates findings to sourcing leadership. May recommend changes in recipes based on commodity markets in order to keep costs within budget. Provides recommendation on best timing to introduce and promote new or current products.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum three years of experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in a multi-unit food service and/or manufacturing organization
  • Successful completion of annual store training

Pay Range: P2: $72,500-$101,500 per year

* Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.

While performing duties, counter areas are often hot with steam from steam table and food vapors. Workspace is restricted and employees are generally expected to remain standing for long periods of time. Employees must prepare hot and cold foods, use Chinese cook knife and other kitchen equipment and work quickly without losing accuracy. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand up to four hours and reach across counter tops measured at 36 inches to serve customers. Kitchens are hot and noise levels are usually high; storage space is limited and shelving is high. Employees must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment, have effective verbal communication skills, ability to adapt to a dynamic environment with changing priorities, and the ability to manage conflicts/difficult situations.
