Under the direction and supervision of the manager of Nursing Operations, the Scheduling Assistant performs a wide range of communication and coordination functions to support safe patient care throughout the organization. This role is responsible for the scheduling of qualified resources (RN's/LPN's, PCAs/CTs & BAs/UCs) for a 24 hour per day, 7 day a week operation to meet staffing requirements within the organization while remaining within budgeted hours each week. Specific responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: Kronos Advanced Scheduling, KRONOS Timecard Management, reports, projects, and data collection. Qualifications EDUCATION A minimum of a high school graduate; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business is preferred. EXPERIENCE Two to four years' experience with twenty-four hours a day/seven days a week scheduling experience and/or higher level secretarial experience. LICENSURE N/A SPECIAL SKILLS Computer literacy and software skills related to Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Working knowledge of scheduling and payroll programs preferred. Strong customer service, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are required, both written and oral. Must possess patience and the ability to relate tactfully and professionally with all nursing staff members. Must be knowledgeable of administrative practices, procedures and policies. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and to remain calm during emergency situations. Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner with minimal supervision. Must possess outstanding organizational skills. Ability to understand and operate mechanics of a multi-line telephone/paging system. PHYSICAL DEMAND 1.Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day, proper body mechanics required'bending, stooping, turning, stretching, reaching above the shoulders and occasional lifting are involved.
