Cognizant is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team.

Role: Business Analyst

Experience: 8+ years

Location: We are ideally looking for candidates willing to work ONSITE from the client location in Raleigh NC or Atlanta GA. Remote work is not an option.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in .NET-based software development projects.
  • Strong understanding of the .NET framework, including familiarity with C#, ASP.NET, and related technologies.
  • Experience with requirement gathering techniques, such as interviews, workshops, surveys, and document analysis.
  • Proficiency in using Business Analysis tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with database management (SQL Server, MySQL) and reporting tools.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Requirement Gathering: Work with business stakeholders to gather and document clear, concise, and comprehensive business requirements.

Documentation: Create detailed requirement documents (BRDs, SRS) and user stories that can be used by the development team.

Process Mapping: Analyze current business processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement and providing solutions.

Solution Design Collaboration: Work with the development team to ensure that the proposed solution aligns with business needs and requirements. Provide input for system design and architecture.

Data Analysis: Analyze data and generate reports, dashboards, and KPIs to measure business performance.

Testing and Validation: Assist in the development of test cases, conduct user acceptance testing (UAT), and validate that the implemented solution meets the business requirements.

Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, ensuring they are kept informed throughout the project lifecycle.

Agile/Scrum Methodology: Participate in agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Ensure that the user stories are well-defined and prioritized.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position depends on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
