The School of Teaching and Learning is seeking a full-time fixed-term position at the rank of Instructor or Teaching Assistant Professor to join the faculty of Curriculum and Instruction ( EDCI). Rank to be determined upon hire. This is a 9 months per year position with an anticipated start date of August 2025. The EDCI program serves graduate and undergraduate students in the College of Education and Allied Professions. Faculty in this program specialize in providing courses that are foundational to classrooms and schools. Additionally, EDCI faculty support all secondary education programs (English, Math, Science, and Social Sciences) and K-12 special areas (Health and Physical Education, Art, and Music). To assure support for students in their internship semester, faculty in the EDCI program should be familiar with edTPA.

In a program that highly values collaboration, the successful candidate will be expected to teach education courses for students in the Educational Curriculum and Instruction Program. Preference will be given to candidates who can work collaboratively across disciplines and with knowledge of multilingual learners. The teaching load for this position is four courses per semester.

The position will require teaching in the EDCI program as well as a willingness to teach in other related programs in the College of Education and Allied Professions. The successful candidate will teach face-to-face courses at the main Cullowhee campus with the potential to teach some online courses. They will teach courses in curriculum and instruction and other courses as assigned, lead seminars related to internships, and supervise interns in K-12 education settings. Consistent participation in on-campus responsibilities is expected. Candidate must meet annual performance requirements in the School of Teaching and Learning in teaching and service.
