Responsibilities

Arcfield is looking for a talented Lead Linux infrastructure/Cloud Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will use strong enterprise Linux expertise and programming/scripting skills to manage enterprise Linux systems in an environment that is on-premises, but with increasing cloud usage and emphasis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The lead Linux Engineer will build, deploy, manage, and administer on-prem and cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS) designed to deliver complex software products in a production environment located in Louisville CO
  • As a lead Linux engineer, this candidate will also be responsible for the implementation, support, and maintenance of all Linux infrastructure systems for the enterprise Cloud environment, both Linux Server and Desktop
  • The individual will work with network and systems engineers as well as application developers to install, configure, and maintain systems
  • Manage day to day operations of systems by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair
  • Assist application teams with creation and configuration and deployment of Linux systems and platforms, including Ubuntu, RHCE, Docker

Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5
  • strong knowledge of Linux (preferably Red Hat and Debian derivatives)
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems without documentation
  • self-motivated and able to work independently
  • 3-5 years of experience with Configuration Management tools, such as Ansible (preferred), Puppet or SaltStack
  • Experience supporting Linux Containers in an enterprise environment

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of TrueNAS (or other FreeBSD-based storage system)
  • DevOps experience (Gitlab, GitHub, Kubernetes, ECS, Terraform, etc)
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tooling such as Terraform or Bicep
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub or GitLab
  • In-depth knowledge of a common programming language such as Python, Ruby or Golang

Equal Pay Act

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
