About the Role:

As a Marketing Intern with Raptor Eats, the dining services provider at the University of Minnesota - Rochester, you will support themed events and social media marketing efforts. You will work closely with the Director of Dining Services and receive mentorship from the Regional Marketing Director. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world marketing experience while making a meaningful impact on campus dining promotions.

This role requires creativity, initiative, and the ability to work with little to no supervision. You will assist in event planning, content creation, and marketing campaigns to engage students and enhance their dining experience. Interest in sustainability and health & wellness is a plus. We welcome candidates from any major with relevant skills and enthusiasm for marketing.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, PowerPoint, and Canva
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service experience
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design tools is a plus (Canva or Adobe)
  • Prior marketing-related experience is a plus but not required

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning, organizing, and executing themed dining events
  • Support social media content creation and promotions for Raptor Eats
  • Act as a brand representative for campus dining services
  • Conduct marketing audits and research student engagement
  • Manage signage and marketing materials across campus
  • Assist in the creation of marketing campaigns, concepts, and visuals
  • Maintain and update website and social media content
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings and campus events
  • Assist with general administrative tasks as needed

  • Gain experience in social media marketing and audience engagement
  • Learn how to conduct market research and apply insights to marketing campaigns

Job Summary

This position is paid, but not eligible for benefits such as medical, relocation, or housing.

Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease). Any such periods during which you do not perform work on the Company's behalf may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff. However, depending on business needs, you may be required to work year-round, potentially at a different location during break periods. Business needs may vary from year to year.
