Vice President, Business Development - Innovation

The Business Developer for the US Innovation Team will play a pivotal role in driving growth by fostering relationships and creating compelling narratives that resonate with clients. This role involves owning the entire business development process from outbound prospecting to managing inbound inquiries, with a strong focus on Ipsos' One Ipsos strategy and Innovation philosophy.

Key Responsibilities



  • Client Engagement & Relationship Building

    • Develop and nurture key client relationships to position Ipsos as the preferred choice for innovation solutions.
    • Conduct outbound prospecting through email, phone, and social media to identify and qualify potential clients.
    • Collaborate with the Growth Organization to ensure efficient handling of inbound requests and provide internal support.
    • Lead discovery calls to understand client needs and effectively communicate Ipsos' unique offerings.
    • Actively engage in networking activities to build relationships internally and externally on behalf of Ipsos.

  • Personalized Outreach & Lead Qualification

    • Create and deliver customized outreach messages that address specific prospects and their business challenges.
    • Utilize a deep understanding of buyer personas to tailor communications and engagement strategies.
    • Qualify leads by assessing criteria such as budget, business needs, and decision-making authority.

  • Pitch Development & Presentation

    • Develop compelling narratives and presentations to build client trust and secure follow-up meetings.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to create personalized materials that highlight Ipsos Innovation capabilities.

  • Market & Industry Expertise

    • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the innovation development process and research solutions such as idea screening, concept testing, product testing, pricing research, forecasting, name and message testing.
    • Analyze target verticals to identify market trends, the competitive landscape, and key decision-makers.

  • Mentorship & Internal Collaboration

    • Work closely with Account Executives to ensure a smooth transition of qualified leads.
    • Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
    • Act as a mentor within the team, sharing knowledge and demystifying the business development process.
    • Collaborate with the Growth Organization to ensure seamless handling of inbound requests and internal support.



Qualifications



  • Proven experience in business development or a related role within the innovation or market research industry.
  • Has a passion and experience with Innovation research, across the full development cycle.
  • Strong understanding of the sales cycle and ability to lead discovery calls and manage client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft compelling pitches and presentations.
  • Self-starter with a go-getter attitude and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

In accordance with NY/CO/CA/WA law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $170,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
