Position Title: Sous Chef- Village Club- Great Neck, NY

Salary: $70,000-$85,000/yr

Job Summary

As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in the success of the Culinary Department at our facility in Great Neck, NY. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to supervise kitchen operations, prepare and cook various food items, and assist in menu creation and execution of events. This position offers a unique opportunity for an energetic, entrepreneurial culinary professional to contribute to high-quality dining experiences and grow within a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account
  • Assists the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
  • Produces and executes catering events
  • Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A.S. or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years of culinary/kitchen management experience required
  • Catering experience is required
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
  • Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities
  • ServSafe certified - highly desirable
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Passion for culinary excellence and continuous learning.
