Department OverviewThe FLEX team develops software for public safety organizations to manage emergency dispatch, reporting and jail. The team is part of the Motorola Video and Software organization which builds secure, scalable and reliable on-premise and cloud based products to serve public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world providing sophisticated and customized workflows and cost effective solutions to municipalities of all sizes. Manage a team of Software Development Engineers building solutions for public safety
Recruit, hire, mentor, and coach Software Development Engineers at different levels of experience
Manage and execute against project plans and deliver commitments within a professional, high paced engineering environment
Interface with our internal/external customers to understand requirements, set priorities, and communicate direction and progress
Own all operational metrics and support for your teams' software
Drive improvements in software engineering practices
Analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization's products and systems.
Performs system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency.
Develops, validates, and tests structures and user documentation.

Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science (or related technical equivalent) with 5+ years experience or 8+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams
5+ Experience in architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems
Team management - experience with managing engineers preferred
Experience partnering with product OR program management teams

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Target Base Salary Range: $98,100- $ 196,200 USD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements

BS in Computer Science (or related technical equivalent) with 5+ years experience OR 8+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams
5+ Experience in architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
