Job Title: Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Location: Detroit, MI Inpatient/Outpatient: 100% inpatient Case Load: Mostly adults, very rare children. Position Overview: Seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our specialized neuroendovascular team at our Level 1 Trauma Comprehensive Stroke Center. This inpatient-only role focuses on delivering high-quality care to patients with complex neurovascular conditions, with no call requirement. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background in neuroendovascular procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care. Inpatient rounding, see consults and round on patients throughout the hospital. ICU care and shared decision making with intensivist teams. Discharge planning and throughout the patients. Preferred that if NP and new grad, have ICU experience. If PA and new graduate, have hospital experience as a PCT or Nurse Assistant, preferably in an ICU or step-down setting. If not a new graduate, preferred some critical care experience or ED experience. Schedule - 6p-6a, salaried, 240 hours in a 6-week period. Weekend requirement - Yes, every 4th currently. Call requirement - No - on call may occur if low censused (rare) OR Time - No. Provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician. Responsibilities: Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.| Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.| Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.| Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care. Licensure / Certification / Registration: - BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. - Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office. - Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office. - Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Education: - Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program required. - Master's degree preferred. Work Experience: - 1 year of experience preferred. #APP Qualifications: * NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) * PA - Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) * NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan * PA - Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Licensure and Certification * Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application) * National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA) * Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required. * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. * DEA/CSL, required through credentialing. Experience * Preferred that if NP and new grad, have ICU experience. If PA and new graduate, have hospital experience as a PCT or Nurse Assistant, preferably in an ICU or step-down setting. If not a new graduate, preferred some critical care experience or ED experience. * EPIC Experience, preferred.
