Job Overview:

The Medical Technologist performs clinical laboratory testing according to established policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Performs clinical laboratory testing in the areas of Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, and Microbiology according to established policies and procedures

• Work effectively as a team member within the department to provide quality service through communication, cooperation, and collaboration

• Reports all test results promptly, accurately, and efficiently to the patient's caregiver in order to assist with diagnosis and treatment
• Maintain quality assurance and quality control policies and procedures to ensure validity of test results
• Utilize critical thinking skills to solve problems, evaluate aberrant patient results and recognize factors that may affect measurements and results
• Consistently follows all required laboratory safety and chemical hygiene plans to ensure a safe working environment
