We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join our team in support of our DoD customer.The main function of a Solutions Architect is to determine user requirements and design specifications for secure U.S. Government networks. The Solutions Architect serves as a principal engineer and is responsible to integrate with senior engineering staff in planning and architecting network designs, implementations, and upgrades. This individual will be working with a wide range of products by vendors such as Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks, and Versa Networks and a multitude of other cyber security products that integrate within the overall network architectures of the customer to include legacy network routers, switches, firewalls, and associated cryptographic solutions such as HAIPE and CSfC.
Responsibilities Include:


  • Develop and configure Software Defined Network (SDN) architecture (i.e., SD-WAN and SD-LAN) that replace legacy IP based routing architectures.
  • Analyze and make recommendations to adjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demands.
  • Support network operations, maintenance, repairs or upgrades.
  • Assist in design for equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server operation systems.
  • Review and approve solutions for network problems.
  • Review and approve conceptual, logical or physical network designs.
  • Develop procedures to track, project or report network availability, reliability, capacity or utilization.


Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:



  • Required Citizenship/Clearance:


    • US Citizenship is required.
    • Must have a current DoD Top Secret clearance.


  • Required Education:


    • Bachelor's Degree.


  • Required Experience:


    • 15+ years of related experience.


  • Required Certifications:


    • Cisco CCNP
    • DoD 8570 IAM/IAT Level III certification. This will change to a DoD 8140 equivalent once a DISA 8140 policy is released.


  • Location:

    • This is a remote position; however, individuals must be able to travel internationally (approximately 20%), and execute tasks required to implement customer solutions.


  • Required Skills and Knowledge:

    • Ability to design and recommend network security measures, such as firewalls, network security audits, or automated security probes.
    • Familiar with Army and DoD network architecture design standards used to deploy networks at an enterprise level for the Army service agency.
    • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong skills with documentation of network architecture using MS Visio, Word, and Excel.
    • Ability to work independently as well as manage a small team of technical engineers.
    • Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
    • Strong knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to compute and data storage.
    • Strong knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software.
    • Ability to write and modify common programing languages and templates such as Python, JSON and Jinja.
    • Strong ability to design and implement both IPv4 and IPv6 network address schemes.




Preferred Qualifications:


  • Ability to articulate network architectural concepts in written and graphical formats used to present designs to customer leadership.
  • Experience in integrating multiple vendors' solutions into both greenfield and brownfield environments.
  • Strong ability to resolve network issues and determine root cause through analytical examination and fundamental troubleshooting.
