Saint Therese - IHM Senior Living is looking for Non-Certified Nurse Aides to work as a Shower Aide and join our dedicated team! We provide a home for seniors who want to live in a place that has the full continuum of care - meaning residents can move into independent living and then as their care needs evolve, they can move to assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, or stay in our short- term rehab center. We are a five-star facility licensed by Medicare and Medicaid and staffed by people who have the experience and passion to provide exceptional care.

A Shower Aide is responsible for:



  • Assist residents to safely enter and exit the shower/hydro.
  • Provide assistance in washing, rinsing, and drying hair.
  • Comb hair/assistance with grooming.
  • Provide assistance with getting dressed and apply lotions or creams.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment to prevent falls.
  • Report any issues of concern observed during the bathing process.
  • Ensure nails/toenails are trimmed.
  • Assist with shaving facial hair
  • Change bed linens once weekly on scheduled days.
  • Display a positive attitude and respect for all residents, families, and staff.


Positions available in assisted living and memory care include working every other weekend and every other holiday:



  • 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. (24-32 hours pr two-week pay period)
  • 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. (24-32 hours per two-week pay period)


Qualifications:



  • Previous experience as a caregiver is required.


    Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:



    • Resident centered thinking, with awareness & sensitivity to resident needs, interests, & abilities
    • Ability to meet the physical demands of position, including lifting over 50 lbs. while transferring a resident.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Working knowledge of personal computers and related software
    • Ability to work with little supervision and make appropriate judgments.
    • Dependability, with the ability to follow direction.
    • Maturity to deal effectively with the demands of the job.
