Job Description Johnson County Department of Health and Environment is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Epidemiology Division Director. This position provides excellent benefits, including health insurance, wellness programs and discounts, retirement programs, and various other discount programs. The position is located at 11875 S Sunset Drive, Suite 300, Olathe, KS 66061. The Epidemiology Division Director is responsible for providing executive-level leadership and supervision of advanced professional analytical work in the surveillance, detection, and prevention of diseases and injuries. This position serves as a member of the JCDHE Executive Team and conducts high complexity work and functions as a scientific lead, directing and reviewing the work assignments of the other epidemiologists in the department. Remote work may be considered on a hybrid basis after completion of Johnson County Introductory Period. This position will remain open until filled with first review of applications on April 24, 2025.
Duties Include:
Oversees the design and utilization of databases for analysis of health problems to assess the potential public health impact; oversees the designs of instruments for the collection of disease or condition surveillance information and data; during surge events, assists the Disease Containment team to plan, conduct, and direct epidemiological studies and urgent outbreak investigations, including on-site review of facilities and procedures, interviews patients, physicians, nurses and others involved, and collects data from local agencies. Within sixty (60) days of hire, employees (select DHE and EMS positions) must produce proof of immunization, proof of immunity, proof that immunization is medically contraindicated, submit a written objection to immunization based upon a sincerely held religious belief, or receive vaccination for the following: Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR); Tetanus Diphtheria and Acellular Pertussis (TDAP); and Varicella (Chickenpox).
