Product Qualification Specialist

Broadwind Industrial Solutions is hiring a Product Qualification Specialist to join our team in Sanford, NC. If you have high attention to detail, experience in interpreting customer specs / requirements on drawing and BOMs, and an electrical/mechanical part understanding this is the job for you! The Product Qualification Specialist is responsible for ensuring customer and company quality requirements are met. This includes accurate and timely preparation of qualification documentation, responding to customer requirements for mandated initiatives related to the qualification process, and interacting with quality, production, purchasing, sales and customers as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (May include some or all of the following responsibilities)

• Performs, maintains and submits qualification packages to assure applicable components meet the drawing and specifications of the customer
• Complete qualification package per customer requests for each component by combining multiple forms/documents to finalize a package (including but limited to control plan, dimensions, print notes, product specs, bubble print, pictures, etc.)
• Utilize ERP system to determine qualification requirements
• Review customer specifications to ensure the part meets the specification requirements and provide applicable certifications required
• Measure parts that are to be qualified and record measurements / tolerances, create bubble drawings to document findings
• Obtain applicable documentation from sub-tier suppliers Utilize various online customer tools/databases to access and share documentation
• Maintain, review, track open order reports for current qualification requirements and deadlines
• Update and maintain outstanding qualification package log in an accurate and timely manner
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001: 2015 requirements
• Ensure accurate and timely release of all documents
• Support training for end users if needed
• All other duties as assigned

Academic/Experience/Credentials/Certifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience in steel fabrication or machining manufacturing environment
• Experience in quality and/or PPAP documentation highly desired
• Experience with ERP systems
• Experience in interpreting customer specifications/documentation requirements on drawing and BOMs
• Electrical / Mechanical part understanding
• Experience in machining processes and how to apply tolerancing to parts
• Experience with customer information portals a plus
• Experience using measuring tools (Tape Measure, Calipers)

Specialized Skills/Knowledge/Ability:

• Attention to detail is critical
• Proficient in reading blueprints and tolerancing of parts
• Ability to solve problems by obtaining the correct information from vendors, websites, ERP system, etc.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and able to effectively interact at many levels and directly with the customer

• Highly organized by managing multiple priorities at the same time
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Competent PC skills and comfort using MS Excel, MS Word, Adobe, E-mail and other corporate based systems
