Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Test Engineer supporting a high-priority acquisition mission within the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (AFLCMC/HNC), located at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX.

AFLCMC/HNC is responsible for full lifecycle management of Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity systems that protect warfighter access to critical systems while denying the same to adversaries. This position will support the planning, execution, and reporting of major IT Test and Evaluation (T&E) activities across the division's programs.



Responsibilities

In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.

Duties include, but not limited to:

    Support the entire testing lifecycle including test concept and methodology development, detailed test planning, execution, data analysis, and end-user operational testing.

  • Develop and document test plans, criteria, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.

  • Apply Design of Experiments (DoE) techniques to optimize test strategies and resource use.

  • Evaluate test environments for configuration accuracy, operational relevance, and availability for fault testing and verification.

  • Analyze and interpret complex data to assess software/hardware performance and draw meaningful conclusions.

  • Provide detailed findings, analysis, and recommendations to program leadership and test teams.

  • Identify schedule conflicts between multiple test events/releases and support deconfliction and prioritization.

  • Apply engineering judgment and develop innovative solutions to address test and evaluation challenges.

  • Independently manage tasks and deliverables, with only limited supervision and periodic detailed review.



Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Must have an active Top Secret clearance

Education: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and 15 years of relevant experience, 5 years of which must be in the DoD OR,

  • 20 years of directly related experience with appropriate certifications as defined in the Functionally Aligned Job Descriptions, 8 years of which must be in the DoD

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master's degree (MA/MS) and 12 years of relevant experience, 5 years of which must be in the DoD

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in test planning and documentation

  • Strong knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE)

  • Familiar with test tools and environments, fault insertion testing, and data analysis

  • Understanding of software/system lifecycle and configuration management

Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team

  • Effective in providing briefings and reports to senior stakeholders

  • Skilled at conflict resolution and schedule management
