Starting Salary: B14 $73,140.00 ANNUALLY

This position is open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City's collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) - BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. The Project Coordinator for Air Cargo is responsible for field work, technical guidance, stakeholder coordination, and future planning to assure a successful environment for air cargo operations and development at Chicago O'Hare International Airport on a daily basis. Specific duties will cover airfield inspections, contact communications, prospect outreach, facility assessments, document preparation, marketing presentations, meeting coordination, and industry research. The Project Coordinator is also expected to support other senior managers on air cargo affairs as needed, including the Commissioner, the Managing Deputy Commissioner, and the Assistant Commissioner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Conducts field work (landside and airside) to monitor and to improve upon the conditions of O'Hare's air cargo facilities and ramp areas. Manages and support a wide variety of air cargo stakeholders, including airlines, handlers, airport tenants, developers, contractors, consultants, other CDA staff, and external agencies and organizations as needed. Prepares plans and documents related to future air cargo development and coordinate processes leading to deliverables. Communicates with ongoing or new air cargo prospects and contacts regarding O'Hare air cargo service or expansion of service. Prepares reports and presentations on air cargo operations and development both for internal and external purposes, including marketing and educational. Conducts research and technical work related to air cargo needs and understand other general regulations and processes that affect the critical operation and development of O'Hare. Drafts internal and external letters, submittals, responses, and correspondences related to air cargo inquiries and matters. Leads internal and external meetings and presentations related to air cargo. Performs other related duties as assigned by senior management, including the Commissioner, the Managing Deputy Commissioner, and the Assistant Commissioner. Performs other related duties as required.

LOCATION: Chicago Department of Aviation

DAYS: Monday - Friday

HOURS: 7 hour-day (flexible).

NOTE: The candidate(s) selected for hire must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment (STA).

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Social Sciences, Planning or a related field, supplemented by three years of progressively responsible experience in program administration, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
