Join our team as an Investment and Debt Analyst! The Investment and Debt Analyst serves as a subject matter expert and plays a key role in managing liquidity, investments, counterparty risk, and debt-related transactions such as bond financing, hedging, derivatives, lease analysis, bond compliance, and support for credit rating agency presentations. This position ensures an organizational-wide view of liquidity, investments, and debt related risks, along with proper monitoring, analysis and reporting on those risks. Major Responsibilities Include: Liquidity and Cash Flow Management
- Create and Update: Cash flow tracking, forecasting, and scenario planning, including Days Cash on Hand (DCOH) analysis.
- Prepare Assessments: Liquidity risk assessments and mitigation plans, assisting in liquidity management across the enterprise.
- Ensure Accuracy: Compile and compute cash flow forecasts over a 13-week period, preparing reports, scenarios, and management plans to support DCOH objectives.
- Analyze Liquidity: Identify and understand sources and uses, trends, and availability of liquidity reserves across the organization.
Investment Management
- Analyze Portfolios: Short-term investment portfolios, providing support for optimizing risk and return.
- Assess Counterparty Risk: Create, prepare, and maintain counterparty risk assessments, supporting recommendations on risk management.
- Support Committees: Prepare agenda, materials, and meeting plans for investment committees.
Debt and Financing Activities
- Support Financing: Enterprise financing activities, including debt issuance and hedging.
- Ensure Compliance: Update bond compliance programs with documentation to track requirements and complete filings.
- Prepare Presentations: Support annual rating agency presentations through planning, data gathering, and collaboration with internal and external participants.
- Monitor Activity: Lease/buy activity in support of lease financing parameters.
- Manage Relationships: Assist in managing debt consultant relationships and support work as necessary.
- Educate and Support: Collaborate with regional business lines to educate and support financing decisions.
Operational and Compliance Support
- Prepare Documentation: Investment and debt payments, fees, and accounting entries.
- Support Audits: Preparation and documentation of audit reports and schedules.
- Prepare Budgets: Support treasury management in budget preparation.
- Monitor Controls: Update internal controls and documentation for investment, debt, and derivative processes.
- Update Policies: Support updates of respective policies and procedures.
- Expert Support: Serve as a subject matter expert on investment, debt, and derivative portfolios, reviewing existing services and seeking improvements.
Project Management
- Collaborate: Work with senior leadership and others on project teams, serving as a team member or project lead.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field 2 to 4 years of experience in Finance, Economics, or a related field Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and financial management skills. Certifications: Certified Treasury Professional or Chartered Financial Analyst (desired). Knowledge: Familiarity with liquidity management, investment strategies, and debt-related transactions. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with regional business lines and senior leadership. Adaptability: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
