Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership) with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs. This position may frequently require extra hours during the annual financial statement audit cycle (June-Sept). Primary duties for the position will be to work on a variety of core accounting activities essential to both the Organization and its Affiliates. The ideal candidate will have prior work history in Government contract accounting. This role will also perform any duties normally associated with this position that are not expressly outlined here, and any other activities that will contribute to the growth of the organization. The workload varies across a broad range of accounting functions, including playing an important role in the day-to-day tasks as well as delivering advanced level results. Key Responsibilities: *Maintains, analyzes, and ensures the financial data of the Company and its affiliated entities is in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). *Responsible for the recording of complex transactions or processes typically associated with advanced accounting. *Review and approve financial transactions ensuring compliance with Corporate Disclosure Statement, Chart of Accounts, GAAP & CAS. *Support monthly, quarterly and year-end closings. *Apply advanced accounting skills to assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Contract Billing, indirect rate calculations, and Fixed Assets processes as needed. *Analyze financial statements and provide concise explanations for variances. *Assist Senior Accountant with preparation of annual Federal and State tax returns such as 1120, 990, 990-T, & 1099. *Own and improve related accounting, reporting, and financial operations and processes. *Perform and/or Assist with Fixed Asset reconciliations and valuations. *Work closely with the Senior Accountant and Management to conduct financial analysis and strategic insights. *Assist in the research, development, and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. Ensure adherence to internal controls and best practices to safeguard company assets and enhance operational efficiency. *Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to manage financial data effectively. Stay current with technological advancements in accounting tools and software to identify and implement efficiency and accuracy improvements with a focus on utilizing AI powered tools when appropriate and possible. *Serve as the primary liaison and resource for the external auditors (Financial Statement and Uniform Guidance), facilitating the audit process, ensuring smooth and timely communication and access to information. *Performs independent research, as requested by management or required to perform job responsibilities, and completes special projects, as assigned. *Other related duties assigned as needed. Basic Qualifications: *Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or other related field plus 4-6 years of directly related experience or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or other related field plus 2-4 years of directly related experience. *4-6 years of corporate accounting experience. Prefer a minimum of three years of experience in government contracting. *Costpoint experience. *Knowledge of GAAP and government contract accounting principles and FAR. Strong analytical skills and problem solving. *Excellent communication skills required. *Organized, detail orientated and ability to work independently. *Ability to use good judgment in planning and accomplishing new and/or unfamiliar objectives. *Ability to research, gather, and analyze information then formulate effective recommendations and actions. *Ability to effectively interpret and act upon a variety of instructions from various channels. *Ability to work independently with minor supervision to produce accurate results.
