Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Product Description Copy Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and quality of our product descriptions (contractual documents describing Gartner product deliverables clients receive as part of their subscription services) within our legacy and Salesforce CRM systems. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our product master - product description tables and supporting the end-to-end process for product description creation, updates, and retirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Accuracy and Consistency: In collaboration with product management teams, review and edit product description entries in Salesforce, and legacy systems, to meet company standards for accuracy and consistency.

  • Product Description Management: Create, edit and maintain English language product description data including master tables and documents within Salesforce and legacy systems, through the product lifecycle (creation, update, retirement), ensuring reliability and consistency in the Product Master.

  • Translation Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to prioritize and manage translations of product descriptions, ensuring compliance with local language requirements globally.

  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain procedures and style guidelines to ensure documents are properly translated, proofread, and formatted. Ensure language glossaries and style guides are updated and maintained and that Salesforce and downstream systems accurately reflect product description content, in line with company standards.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, sales, marketing, operations and legal teams to assess and implement improvements to product descriptions and related processes in compliance with business requirements.

  • Timely Product Release Support: Ensure timely completion of activities related to product releases, with product descriptions accurately posted and available to sales teams through Salesforce and other stakeholders through downstream systems.

  • Technical Coordination: Participate in Salesforce project refinement and scrum calls, perform testing of functionality, develop and maintain user guides, and address queries from cross-functional stakeholders, including sales and legal teams.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Journalism, Communications, English or other related field preferred.

  • 3+ years of demonstrated professional experience in journalism, writing and editing in a technical environment.

  • Proven experience as a copy editor, preferably within a product data or technical writing context.

  • Strong Grammar and Writing Skills: Impeccable knowledge of spelling and grammar in the English language. Proficiency in other languages desired but not required.

  • Salesforce Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Salesforce CRM, including data entry and management.

  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in editing and reviewing product description data.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and a highly dynamic environment.

  • Flexibility: Flexible and able to balance priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously within tight schedules.

  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively across various departments and teams.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 43,000 USD - 60,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
