Description

An Engineer Technician, under minor supervision, supports Engineering and Production needs. Coordinates with Engineers to ensure accuracy of designs. Executes directives from engineers to update designs, processes and procedures.

The candidate shall be a technical and detailed oriented engineer technician with experience in the following areas:



  • Electronics Assembly, Test and Troubleshooting
  • Understand/interpret part and assembly drawings and schematics. Drawing and GDT ASME Y14.5 - 2009 standards.
  • Methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Engineering and documentation change control.



RESPONSIBILITIES - Primary



  • Assist in maintaining production fixtures and equipment
  • Creating new fixtures and tooling for production processes
  • Trouble shooting electronics and assisting testing of products
  • Support New Product Development in prototyping and pilot run builds.
  • Improving existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes.
  • Update Work instructions, routings/travelers and assembly drawings to meet the manufacturing practices.
  • Identifying ways to reduce production costs.
  • Perform tests, gather data and write results/reports.
  • Perform other duties with the guidance of Engineering.
  • Participate in/perform Root Cause Analysis



RESPONSIBILITIES - Safety & Quality

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • No direct supervisory responsibilities



EDUCATION



  • Associate's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or electrical engineering preferred



EXPERIENCE



  • Level 1- new hire
  • Level 2 - 3-5 years of Assembly, troubleshooting electronics, CAD/Drafting, building fixtures
  • Level 3 - 5-10 years problem solving, engineering level technician, manufacturing support experience



ADDITIONAL SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS



  • Excellent communication and liaison skills.
  • Use of physical measurement tools.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems is preferred
  • Ability to develop and work with recordkeeping and data management systems and related software applications. (SAP, Autodesk Inventor, Altium, JIRA)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external personnel.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and demonstrate professional, ethical, respectful, and courteous behavior when interacting with others.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk 2-4 hours at a time.
  • Required ability to use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone.
  • Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
  • Verbal and listening skills required.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Work will be performed in office and various production site work environments.
