Position Summary
-
Kids and College Camp Counselors will provide support to campers, instructors, and program staff during the Kids and College Summer 2025 Program. The Kids and College Summer Program provides hands-on, engaging classes for campers in grades K-9 with a focus on science, technology, engineering, arts, and manufacturing. Kids & College Camp Counselors will assist in providing an engaging and safe environment for campers, support instructors in the classroom, and assist program staff with a variety of tasks. *** Application will be reviewed upon submission

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

- Assist program instructors and campers in the classroom including setup, instruction, and clean up as directed.
- Escort and direct campers to campus locations as needed, including classrooms and restrooms.
- Provide a safe, supportive, positive, and engaging environment for all campers.
- Assist with daily arrival and dismissal of students.
- Organize and distribute classroom supplies to the appropriate class.
- Notify instructors and program staff regarding disciplinary issues, camper concerns, and medical and safety emergencies.
- Be a positive role model and mentor for campers.
- Work in a collaborative, cooperative, and supportive manner with camp counselors, instructors, and program staff.
- Understand and follow all Kids and College Program andMCCpolicies and procedures.
- Attend mandatory camp counselor training and complete all required employment paperwork and requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
-
- Must be 18 yrs of age and pass a required background check.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Commitment to the mission of the community college and to teaching and motivating students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Ability to work within a team environment and be a positive, supportive, and collaborative teammate.
- Ability to lift at least 10 pounds unassisted and work safely following safety guidelines.
