Summary

The Scheduler Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and coordinating project schedules to support planned plant outages, facilities operations, maintenance activities, or transmission/distribution projects. This role ensures efficient execution of work by aligning schedules with equipment availability, workforce capacity, and business unit priorities.

Utilizing computerized Maintenance Management Systems (such as Maximo) or project management tools (such as Primavera), the Scheduler Planner creates and updates schedules to optimize resource allocation and minimize downtime. The position plays a critical role in supporting operational reliability and project success through effective planning and coordination.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma and two (2) years related experience in a Plant, business operations/maintenance or facilities maintenance/management environment.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of computerized programs such asMicrosoftWord, and Excel.
  • Must possess and demonstrate the ability to learn and operate a Computerized Critical Path Maintenance System. Some travel to different sites, power plants, service centers and/or other facilities may be required.
  • Prior plant, operations/maintenance or Facilities related experience and computerized maintenance management scheduling system tool experience preferred.

Major Accountabilities

1) Develop and maintain required schedules interfaces and provide scheduling information for cost and budget trend.

2) Using the Critical Path Maintenance Management System (i.e., Maximo), ensure activities are scheduled in the appropriate time frame to meet outage commitments, scheduled facilities or operations and maintenance functions or transmission/distribution project management.

FOSSIL SPECIFIC

1) Plan/Coordinate schedule of work and update overhaul and outage schedules, to support the planning and implementation of all planned outages.

2) Update unit outage report and implementation schedule to support the monitoring of the critical path and percent complete status.

3) Coordinate data development for unit outages, including work scope definition and budget information.

4) Provide detailed implementation schedule to management and planners to support unit outages within the schedule time frame.

FACILITIES OR OPERATION/MAINTENANCE SPECIFIC

1) Plan/Coordinate schedule of work for annual facilities or operations preventive maintenance activities.

2) Work with supply chain to bulk order needed supplies.

3) Participate in the coordination and scheduling for minor capital project work.

4) Maintain required schedule interfaces and provide scheduling information for cost and budget trend.

5) Communicate with internal customers on all future work coming up.

6) Run designated monthly reports to ensure efficiency and performance are being achieved.

7) Routinely maintain critical databases and ensure maintenance records are maintained and up to date.

8) Update and maintain weekly schedules/backlog.

9) Ensure work packages are distributed on a timely basis.

10) Perform routine audits as directed.

T&D OPERATIONS SPECIFIC

1) Develops and maintains project / program schedules using Oracle Primavera P6 v7 or R8.

2) Works with functional leads, project managers/teams, contractors and vendors to develop and maintain project schedules throughout project lifecycle.

3) Manages financial data associated with the project to develop and report cash flow and budget results.

4) Produces project schedule reporting and updates to facilitate the planning and execution of the project in line with project objectives.

5) Identifies critical and near-critical paths as well as trends to help project team stay on track.
