Systems Administrator

BlueHalo is looking for the right candidate to join our team and provide mid-career level system administration support at Schriever Space Force Base. This position will support the critical mission of the Satellite Control Network (SCN) and its operations. As part of a customer-facing team, you will provide daily support and maintenance of Windows/Linux servers, workstations, cryptographic equipment, networking gear, and satellite operations components (WANIFs, SDRs). With the support of senior IT staff, you will troubleshoot user issues, perform system upgrades and patching, and provide guidance related to future system enhancements.

The ideal candidate has a TS/SCI security clearance, strong customer-facing technical support experience, and a background in SCN or satellite operations. You should be comfortable addressing time-sensitive issues and be adept at researching and providing solutions under pressure.

This position is 100% on site at Schriever SFB.
Shift: Second shift from 1400-2200

Infrequent travel may be required to the following locations as needed: Albuquerque, NM; Wallops, VA; Fairbanks, AK.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and system administration support for the SCN with limited supervision
• Monitor infrastructure and systems, proactively identifying and resolving issues before service interruptions occur
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in-person with end-users
• Implement best practices tailored to comply with the network and security posture of SCN systems
• Maintain configuration management across multiple systems
• Ensure compliance with relevant policies, such as STIGs and SCN technical orders
• Update and maintain system documentation, user guidance, and best practices
• Provide onsite coverage Monday through Friday during second shift (1400-2200)
• Manage and configure Windows and Linux operating systems
• Provide keying and configuring for COMSEC equipment
• Design proactive monitoring/alerting systems to prevent disruptions
• Automate system administration tasks using scripts (Bash, Python, etc.)
• Update, change, and install new hardware into established systems

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience as a System Administrator
• Security+ certification required

Preferred/Desired Experience

• Experience supporting SCN or satellite operations at Schriever Space Force Base
• Familiarity with WANIFs, SDRs, and DCC Workstations
• RF networking experience
• COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) experience
• Current TS/SCI clearance preferred

Salary Range: $115,000 to $140,000 with a competitive benefits package that includes: 4 weeks PTO, comp time, flex time, 11 paid holidays, very generous 401k employer contribution, health, dental, vision and much more.
