100% travel The Telecommunications Superintendent oversees and manages all on-site field operations for telecommunications installation projects. This leadership role is responsible for supervising crews, maintaining quality and safety standards, coordinating with subcontractors and clients, and ensuring timely, on-budget project delivery. The superintendent is a critical liaison between project management and field teams. Key Responsibilities: Supervise day-to-day field operations for telecommunications projects, including structured cabling, fiber optics, and voice/data installations. Ensure all work is performed according to specifications, industry standards (BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA), and safety regulations. Manage and coordinate installation crews and subcontractors to maximize efficiency and maintain production schedules. Oversee job site logistics including material deliveries, equipment usage, and labor allocation. Conduct site inspections and ensure quality control of all cabling and infrastructure installations. Troubleshoot and resolve technical and personnel issues in the field. Collaborate with project managers to track progress, update schedules, and forecast labor/material needs. Maintain accurate documentation including daily logs, timesheets, and job progress reports. Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, general contractors, and inspectors. Enforce company policies, safety practices (e.g., OSHA standards), and job site rules. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification preferred. 5+ years of experience in telecommunications or structured cabling, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or superintendent role. Extensive knowledge of telecommunications systems, including copper, fiber, wireless, and low-voltage cabling. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, riser diagrams, and project blueprints. Strong leadership and organizational skills with a proven track record of managing crews in fast-paced environments. Proficient in the use of cable testing equipment (Fluke, OTDR, etc.). Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to travel to multiple job sites and work extended hours when necessary. Preferred Certifications (not required but a plus): BICSI Installer 2, Technician, or RCDD Certification OSHA 30 Certification CPR/First Aid PMP or construction management coursework

* Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and help create, develop and implement project process improvement(s). * Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners. * Must be able to act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s). * Must possess proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s). * Must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds. * Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones. * Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements: * Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency * Must possess a minimum of five (5) years experience in telecommunications or related technical field. * Must possess a minimum of six (6) months supervisory and/or managerial experience. * Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements. * Must know the universal communications color codes. * Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project) * Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
