Position Description

Our products and services are trusted by researchers, clinicians, and pharmaceutical companies worldwide to transform science into real-world applications.

QIAGEN is seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Key Account Management to drive growth and deepen strategic partnerships within the Molecular Diagnostics and Life Sciences markets. This executive-level role will be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with QIAGEN's most critical North American customers, including leading diagnostics laboratories, biopharma, reference labs, research institutions, and strategic industry partners.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned commercial leader with a deep understanding of the molecular diagnostics and life sciences landscape, a track record of managing multi-million-dollar accounts, and experience working with a diverse group of customers from diagnostics to research and academia.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Account Leadership:

- Develop and execute multi-year strategic account plans to drive revenue growth and long-term value creation with assigned key accounts.

- Serve as the primary executive sponsor and point of contact for strategic customers across global regions.

Relationship Management:

- Build strong C-suite and senior-level relationships within customer organizations to understand their strategic priorities and align QIAGEN's offerings accordingly.

- Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure customer success and satisfaction, including with R&;D, product management, marketing, operations, and regulatory teams.

Commercial Execution:

- Lead complex contract negotiations, pricing strategy, and solution delivery across a portfolio of QIAGEN products, services, and technologies.

- Collaborate with global and regional sales teams to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities aligned with customer needs and market trends.

- Forecasting & Pipeline Management: Manage the pipeline, predict revenue trends, and optimize sales performance. Develop accurate forecasts and data-driven strategies to ensure sustainable growth.

Market Insight & Innovation:

- Act as the voice of the customer internally, providing actionable feedback to guide product development, innovation, and go-to-market strategy.

- Stay current on market dynamics, competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments in molecular diagnostics and life sciences.

Team Leadership & Development:

- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing account management team to support execution.

- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer-centricity across QIAGEN's commercial organization.


Position Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

- 15+ years of progressive commercial leadership experience in life sciences, diagnostics, or biopharma industries.

- Demonstrated success managing strategic global accounts with revenues of $50M+.

- Deep understanding of molecular diagnostics technologies, workflows, and market trends.

- Proven ability to navigate complex decision-making environments and build consensus across internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Experience:

- Background in molecular diagnostics, multiplex PCR, genomics, NGS, or related fields.

- Experience with OEM partnerships, strategic collaborations, or channel development.

- Familiarity with regulated environments (CLIA, CAP, FDA, IVDR, etc.)


Personal Requirements

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presence.

- Willingness to travel domestically and sometimes internationally up to 50-60%.
