DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will provide supervisory and administrative support within the BOP to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for directing our expedited review process and ensuring compliance with BOP regulations and standards for expedited review. Work involves analyzing incoming pardon applications and conducting relevant queries of records and databases to determine eligibility criteria, monitoring for JNET notifications related to expedited cases, and completing subsequent case review when an alert is received. Our team will rely on you to complete pardon cases analysis and act as a final reviewer and quality assurance manager for pardon cases analyses completed by others.

Your responsibilities will also include attending board meetings to ensure accurate and timely understanding of the board's objectives, acting as a liaison with partner agencies, and assisting in pardons outreach programs to help educate the people of Pennsylvania about the pardons process. You will also assist the board secretary in development of regulations, legislation, or board action to improve operations and efficiency of the Board of Pardons. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to two days per week after successful completion of a probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess three years of management level experience involving overseeing and directing the work of others, making strategic decisions, and achieving organizational goals.
  • You must possess three years of supervisory experience involving directly assigning and reviewing the work of subordinates, completing employee performance reviews, and addressing employee disciplinary issues.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

This position is not subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding.
