Job Overview

The Transportation Manager of Customer Delivery will be responsible for advancing the end-to-end performance and agility of Macy's customer delivery network. In this role you will be responsible for managing the company's day-to-day customer delivery network in partnership technology, digital, fulfillment, and third-party partners. This is a leadership position requiring supervision, direction and development of indirect employees, Carriers, 3PL's and cross functional teams including but not limited to analytics, solutioning, delegation of tasks, performance monitoring in addition to ensuring alignment and execution against business objectives

What You Will Do



  • Develop innovative and customer centric delivery strategies and solutions.
  • Refine, enhance, and implement reporting and visibility tools to establish clear and measurable key performance indicators.
  • Define a phased approach to advance Macy's customer delivery agility and capabilities.
  • Establish and develop partnerships with solution providers and industry thought leaders.
  • Challenge conventional thinking and current state supply chain solutions and processes.
  • Any other responsibilities that management deems essential.
  • Support business outcomes by identifying trends and metrics that deliver insights on financial and operational performance.



Skills You Will Need



  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to review and lead execution decisions based on statistical reports/data.
  • Reasoning Ability: Must be able to work independently. Provide strategic direction and leadership to a team of professionals.
  • Other skills: Proven track record of working cross-functionally with focus on merchandising, vendors, customers, stores and finance. Strong change management skills. Ability to develop insightful, value-added and actionable analyses.



Who You Are



  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates with a High School diploma or equivalent are encouraged to apply.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, remaining in a stationary position, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves remaining in a stationary position for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
