POSITION SUMMARY

Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for a Security Intern at our Marinette, Wisconsin location.

This position is responsible for developing and administering security procedures to ensure the protection and management of facility access control, visitor control, badging, and overall facility security. This role involves overseeing and maintaining all security-related activities, including conducting security education, providing training classes, and delivering security briefings. The position also plays a critical role in promoting safety culture throughout the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Administer security procedures related to facility access control, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors are granted entry.
  • Escort foreign persons.
  • Assist with badging procedures and issuing badges.
  • Conducting security briefing and managing training sessions.
  • Assist with parking enforcement.
  • Assist with special events.
  • Reviewing surveillance video.
  • Conduct security education and training programs to ensure all employees are informed about security procedures and best practices.
  • Collaborate with various departments to foster and support a strong safety culture throughout the facility. Ensure that security practices align with broader safety initiatives.
  • Assist with directing contract security personnel for compliance with operating procedures.
  • Promote strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions. Follow established policies, procedures, operating instructions, and processes to provide quality customer support to clients via email, telephone and in-person contact.
  • Learn security procedures and raise security awareness.
  • Learn about security compliance and government requirements.
  • Follow established policies, procedures, operating instructions, and processes to provide quality customer support to clients via email, telephone and in-person contact.
  • Demonstrate a consistent sense of urgency on high priority open issues.
  • Ensure timely follow up to all assigned support issues and data requests.
  • Participate on special projects directed by the Security Manager.



REQUIREMENTS



  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • High School Diploma
  • Recently graduated or enrolled in a university
  • Ability to receive and maintain a secret level security clearance

While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to limited exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.
