What You'll Do



Summary/Objective:

Provides asset liability management analytics, develops accounting efficiencies, prepares, understands, and reviews financial statements, prepares profit modeling, balance sheet risk management and mitigation planning, economic scenario and stress testing, interest rate and liquidity risk analytics, and associated regulatory compliance support. Business Intelligence (BI)/data analytics-focused.

  • Exercises credit union policies, procedures and controls to the accounting/finance department.
  • Prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
  • Contributes to the preparation of the ALM model, assumptions, and reports.
  • Provides robust statistical analytics to support portfolio modeling, member behavior, pricing sensitivity, pricing studies.
  • Continuously improves analytical capability of the team to provide insightful and relevant recommendations to drive business decision making.
  • Reviews financial statements and related comprehensive analyses for variances and trends.
  • Be able to independently analyze and summarize the impacts of new and/or proposed accounting guidance, processes and procedures.
  • Contributes to loan sale operations, key pricing analysis, servicing obligations, and assessment of the loan portfolio.
  • Responsible for incorporating innovative data analysis tools for the department.
  • Responsible for development and update of policy, procedures, flow charts, and technical financial positions of the credit union.
  • Be innovative in collaborating with other departments to develop effective financial data and reports from various systems.
  • Ability to dissect raw accounting data into a summarized analysis.
  • Ability to perform research on current and new accounting and/or finance related issues.
  • Enhances, improves, and maintains written procedures for the accounting department.
  • Initiates, develops and maintains financial and operational accounting efficiencies.
  • Engages all accounting/finance personnel to understand and apply regulatory and accounting controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Provides innovative ideas to the accounting/finance department as well as improve efficiencies to various aspects of the department.
  • Serves as a primary resource for other areas of the credit union to explain to them accounting/finance transactions, reporting requirements and/or any accounting/finance discrepancies.
  • Assists in the coordination and preparation of third party audit and review materials.
  • Leads the implementation of changes in accounting/finance changes (for systems and reporting) as well as the implementation of new accounting standards and policies.
  • Performs ad hoc projects and analyses for credit union management.
  • Assists in the professional development of junior Financial Analysts
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements.



What You'll Need




  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related work experience.
  • 4-7 years financial analyses.
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytic, financial modeling, and reporting skills
  • Ability to work with advanced spreadsheets, general ledger accounting systems, and other general technology such as report writers and budget software
  • Strong writing skills
  • Proficiency in the use of software applications, databases and spreadsheets


Supervisory Responsibility:

None

Hybrid Work Environment:

This is a hybrid position. As described in DCU's Hybrid Work Program, you will be required to spend a minimum of 5 days per month working in-office at a DCU facility. You may choose to work in-office more often, or you may be required to work in-office more than 5 days per month based on business or department needs as communicated by your manager. When you are not working at a DCU facility, you will work from a private designated area within your home and adhere to the requirements described in DCU's Telework Policy.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role. Completing the functions of this position requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers and other related equipment.

Travel: Periodically attend seminars and conferences.
