Description

The Network Engineer will participate is designing, sustaining, troubleshooting, and supporting Navy network devices and appliances. The candidate will be supporting current baselines and while driving new requirements for modernization, upgrades, and changes required for coalition networks.

Additional tasking will include:

    Designing, deploying, administering, and maintaining enterprise networks, including servers, routers, switches, VPN appliances, firewalls, storage networks, remote access systems, and network management systems
  • Monitoring network connectivity and ensure high quality data transmission
  • Resolve complex interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms
  • Configure communication media with routers, switches, firewalls and other devices

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience with the following:
  • Network design and implementation experience with any of the following: Cisco, Juniper, Brocade technologies.
  • Ability to configure routing, switching, load balancing, storage IP services, DNS, etc.
  • Ability to analyze, design, and test network systems including both local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN)
  • Thorough understanding of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Internet Protocol Security (IPSec), Virtual Private Network (VPN), HTTP, Secure Socket Shell (SSH), SSL, and DNS
  • Active SECRET clearance (or higher)
  • CompTIA Security+ certification (or other CSWF qualifying certification)


Desired Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
  • Direct experience with the following a plus:
    • Navy Networks
    • Tactical Networks
    • Juniper SSGs
    • Cisco ASRs, switches and routers, VPN
    • Network Management System (NMS)
    • Crypto equipment, TACLANES
  • Advanced certifications, such as:
    • Cisco: CCNA, CCNP, or similar
    • VMware: VCP, VCAP, or similar


Clearance Information

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL WITH TOP SECRET ELIGIBILITY



Travel Requirements

  • 10-15% (quarterly OCONUS travel)
