Chief Data Office (CDO) leverages HealthCare data and Analytics technologies to create a better consumer experience and improve our member's health. As a Sr. Data Engineering Consultant, this role includes SAS administration and Infrastructure Engineering. Additionally, managing and maintaining the SAS environments, leading Optum SAS Platform architecture, design, strategy, and working with a business partner across the enterprise.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Install, administer, support, and maintain SAS enterprise software
  • Apply the latest patches and security updates for SAS enterprise software
  • Design, develop, and maintain SAS code; collaborate with other SAS developers within enterprise
  • Generate documentation for architecture, installation and on-going operational support
  • Engineer solutions to ensure scalability and reliability
  • Work directly with external and internal customers; interact with other support teams and vendors
  • Contribute to tooling, automation, and system engineering efforts
  • Navigate challenges presented by different cultures, work practices, and time zones
  • Work flexible business hours as required by global customers and business needs
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently with internal and external stakeholders
  • Stay current on SAS offerings, technologies and industry trends
  • Shift working as per business demand
  • Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field; or 4+ years of equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) 9.4 installation, configuration, and support
  • 3+ years of experience in SAS Viya installation, configuration, and support
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux & Windows
  • 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing SAS solution on Azure; plus experience with IaaS

Preferred Qualifications:



  • SAS 9.4 or SAS Viya Administration Certification
  • Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI
  • Experience in Health care industry
  • Knowledge of Big Data, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence
  • Knowledge of containerization technology such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Understanding of ITSM/ServiceNow (Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, and SaltStack
  • Proven solid interpersonal skills, including verbal, visual, and written communication

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
