Role Summary

The Specialist, Employee Communications & Experience is a passionate champion of our mission, Compass Values, culture and ensure our event strategies are meaningful and support our employees and the community at Rivian's future manufacturing facility in Georgia. This position requires frequent event attendance which can occur on weekends and evenings. It may require travel to different areas of Georgia, including Atlanta, Covington and the surrounding areas.


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Lead Employee Communications & Experience Partner to support and execute a robust events calendar in Georgia
  • Support community engagement through building meaningful local connections, school visits, tours and other related activities
  • Develop detailed event timelines, floor plans and logistics schedules
  • Manage vendors of all aspects of meetings and events (lodging, catering, AV, setup and design, transportation, security, etc.)
  • Conduct pre-event and post-event meetings with stakeholders to ensure seamless execution
  • Assist in financial management including budget creation, monitoring revenue/expense performance throughout the planning process to ensure cost control
  • Prepare post-event reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 2-5 years of experience in event management and/or community relations.
  • Experience in creating employee and community events with an emphasis on project management.
  • Ability to quickly grasp information across a variety of disciplines and audiences to create clear communications
  • Ability to operate with ambiguity in a fast paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong interpersonal communicator with partners at all levels to successfully drive projects to completion within tight deadlines
  • Ability to operate with ambiguity.
  • A highly organized self-starter capable of working independently across multiple workstreams, and as part of a team
  • Flexibility in schedule to be able to support night and weekend shifts as needed.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace is essential; experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and web publishing preferred.
  • The ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality is a must.
  • This position is in Covington, GA and may require on-site work. While the facility and offices are being built, you will work remotely and it may require travel to our plant in Normal, IL.
