Overview

SRI's Center for Innovation Strategy and Policy (CISP), based in Arlington, Virginia, collaborates with federal agencies, R&D institutions, regions, and countries to help them achieve long-term economic and social impact through effective investments in science, technology, and innovation. CISP bring diverse skills, deep experience, and dedication to deliver services in the following areas:

    science and technology program development and support
  • technology-based economic and workforce development strategies and engagement
  • innovation ecosystem assessment
  • complex program evaluation
  • innovation training to build internal capacity
  • analytics using AI and machine learning.

As part of CISP, the Project Leader will take intellectual and technical responsibility for innovation and science policy research, analysis, strategic planning, and evaluations for a diverse range of clients. This will be a hybrid opportunity based in the Washington D.C. metro area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead individual large and/or multiple small projects for SRI clients.
  • Manage projects for excellent client satisfaction, subject matter superiority, and financial success.
  • Contribute to writing strong, winning concept papers and proposals.
  • Interface directly with clients.
  • Develop conceptual frameworks and approaches to projects.
  • Deliver high quality, on-time, and on-budget deliverables to clients
  • Present analysis, findings, and recommendations to client staff and leadership.
  • Delegate to, direct, and supervise staff.
  • Develop junior staff.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of policy work experience related to science, technology, and innovation within one or more of the following domains: science and innovation policy, program evaluation, economic analysis, technology strategy and technology transfer and commercialization.
  • Masters or PhD in public policy, business administration or other policy-oriented field in the social sciences, with emphasis on science, technology, and/or economic development contexts.
  • Must have U.S. Citizenship due to government contract requirements.

The salary range is: $89,910-$119,133. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
