Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist will focus on processing union and non-union payrolls and reporting union fringe benefits. This position will report to the Payroll Manager.

Process weekly union and non-union payrolls

• Review timesheets
• Follow up on timesheet approvals
• Import time from web-based software system
• Review and process employee new hire and termination paperwork.
• Reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts monthly
• Prepare and submit monthly union fringe benefit reporting
• Prepare and submit 401k, payroll tax and benefit information through provider websites
• Assist with required payroll reporting
• Assist with payroll related audits
• Process garnishment and child support orders
• Maintain payroll employee records

• Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or equivalent. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• 5+ years union payroll processing experience in multi-company, multi-state environment
• Knowledge of accounting processes and internal controls
• Proficient computer skills, including Excel and Word
• Proven ability to maintain confidential information
