Maintenance Technician

Overview:

Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager this position is responsible for supporting various maintenance functions including but not limited to: troubleshooting running equipment, modifications to existing equipment, preventative and predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Position will require flexible hours on the weekends. Must be able to work overtime.

Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Perform repairs and maintenance as necessary to maintain production at target efficiencies.
• Troubleshoot and repair production and plant equipment (CNC, Trim Saws, etc.).
• Develop, modify, perform and record assigned preventive maintenance tasks.
• Preventive maintenance, repair and adjustment of packaging, palletizing and other equipment.
• Housekeeping is a priority in order to provide a safe, clean and organized work environment.
• Building maintenance such as lamping, minor plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Any other tasks required by the Manager.

Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements:

• Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Technical education highly desirable.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Technical knowledge and maintenance experience with production-related equipment.
• Technical skills must include industrial electrical in 3-phase 480/240 volts, as well as pneumatic, hydraulic, and welding.
• Must possess an ability to fabricate parts.
• Must have the ability to check/read blueprints and technical manuals (mechanical and electrical).
• Experience in using machinist measuring tools.
• Ability to weld with mig and stick machine.
• Proper use of torch rig, electrical hand tools, grinders, drill motors, die grinders, porta band, and bench grinder.
• Experience with operating CNC Machines/Equipment.
• Must be able to lift 60+ lbs.
• Must be able to climb a ladder and work in high areas.
• Must be a team player, and able to communicate effectively.
• Forklift, man lift, and associated safety equipment experience preferred.
• This position requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and be highly alert at all times.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
