Full-Time Manager- Nursing Administration located at Corona Regional Medical Center

The Manager of Nursing supports the delivery of safe, appropriate, age specific, cost-effective patient care. He/she oversees the activities of the House Supervisors, transporters, sitters and float pool team. Coordinates direct admit processes, patient placement and bed management in collaboration with inpatient units, emergency department, admitting, and physicians. Oversees the direction of the allocation of staffing activities, within the patient care areas, and works with the House Supervisors to handle unusual circumstances. Provides guidance/leads/investigate/resolve clinical problems/complaints; provides administrative oversight in the absence of administration. Working with the CNO, leads HS initiatives, drives throughput, and quality standards. Other duties as assigned. supports the delivery of safe, appropriate, age specific, cost-effective patient care. Operational responsibilitites include: Appropriate strategic planning, communication, collaboration, generating a smooth workflow for both staff and patients, effectively communicating standards and expectations to the multidisciplinary team, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all aspects of care/services delivered. The program manager is a strong leader who is responsible for ensuring quality metrics are met including outcomes measurement, patient safety, and patient experience metrics.

The tradition of caring that culminated in the establishment of Corona Regional Medical Center began in 1965, with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. Since that time the hospital has changed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing community. Corona Community Hospital merged with Circle City Medical Center in 1992 and the resulting entity became Corona Regional Medical Center. The merged hospitals are now a 238-bed community hospital network comprised of a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus. It is certified by The Joint Commission, employs more than 1,250 trained healthcare workers and has a medical staff of approximately 347 physicians representing more than 40 specialties.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, regulatory or accreditation requirements. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic to Intermediate Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and percentages. Ability to work with statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Intermediate to High Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

EDUCATION/ TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE

- Completion of a Registered Nurse program, currently licensed to practice in California
- Bachelor's degree from a College or University in nursing or related field required.
- Master's degree from a College or University in nursing or elated field preferred.

- Five (5) years of experience as a manager our supervisor (2 years may be in a clinical supervisor role).

- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and regulations.
- Experience in critical care, emergency department preferred.
- 3-5 years acute hospital experience caring for patients of varied acuity levels in multiple settings.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field required.
- Master's degree in nursing or related field, preferred.
