Overview

Responsible for working with the Compliance team to ensure company contracts are accurate at creation, invoiceable and payable by vendors, and easily receivable by operations teams. Coordinates with the Field Purchasing team on verification of goods receipts for materials and services to ensure timely payment of supplier invoices. Develops, maintains, and improves processes and systems utilized by the company to perform procurement related tasks and functions. Works collaboratively across the organization and actively supports the company's values and beliefs.

Location: This position can be located at one of our office locations daily: Fargo, ND; Indianapolis, IN; Clinton, IN; or Phoenix, AZ.

MasTec Renewables group is part of the MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure business segment. MasTec's Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) is a $4 billion annual revenue business unit that provides construction services for industrial facilities; building products manufacturers, power generation facilities, manufacturing plants; solar, wind, and thermal energy plants; buildings, and infrastructure.



Responsibilities

    Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures
  • Support the implementation of industry best practices and a mindset of continuous improvement
  • Monitor, update, and improve the processes and procedures for the proper execution, coordination, and payment of company contracts
  • Prevent harm to the company by ensuring that the company does not enter into any purchase order with an external party that violates the company's policies and practices by performing due diligence and following vendor pre-qualification process
  • Support the company requisition system to ensure contracts have appropriate approvals at time of contract creation
  • Monitor and support life cycle completion of company issued purchase orders
  • Work collaboratively with Accounting teams to ensure purchase orders are compliant and invoices can be paid in a timely manner
  • Work collaboratively with Field Buyers and Receivers to ensure timely and accurate receipt of goods and services onsite
  • Support Procurement's development of a subcontractor scorecard system, specifically utilizing KPI's that affect contract compliance and invoicing
  • Communicate with Commercial Services, Insurance, Licensing and Permitting on requirements from these teams, understand and be able to discuss how to implement those requirements in company contracts
  • Assist Operations team in resolution of compliance issues related to improper invoicing, inaccurate receiving or inadequate reporting
  • Support data acquisition and monitoring related to compliance issues so that procurement can improve cycle time on contracts and resolve compliance holds quickly and efficiently
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or construction management preferred
  • One year of experience in procurement or business-related field

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the company's Zero Injury principles
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Good computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite, especially Excel
  • Utilizes industry specific software and is familiar with (Enterprise Resource Planning) ERP systems
  • General understanding of terms used in the construction industry
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to produce accurate and precise work and follow set procedures and standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to communicate with company stakeholders and external vendors in a professional manner

Working Environment:

  • When visiting jobsites the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
  • This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
