Security Program Analyst

The Sierra Lobo Rocket Technology and Engineering Services II (RTES II) contract provides advise and assist services (A&AS) at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Edwards AFB, California. AFRL conducts rocket propellant and rocket propulsion research, as well as developing associated test processes and facilities.

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

This position will be located at Edwards AFB, CA.

The Security Program Analyst will provide Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to the AFRL RQIO Operations Branch supporting rocket propulsion research/ test security activities. Facilitates and maintains technical surveillance of Information Security, Physical Security, and Operations Security. Coordinates and prepares all evaluations and inspections of AFRL proper and provides reports to the RQIO Security Lead. Furnishes technical security information and assists with rocket test facilities, customer interface and standards. Will support advisory and assistance services (A&AS) with developing and managing (including internal/external collaboration) security aspects for test programs.

REQUISITE SKILLS:

Knowledge of common and specialized administrative security methods, rules, regulations, and principles.
• Provide assistance to the AFRL-West security functional and security specialist and perform a wide variety of interrelated or non-standard security assignments, resolve problems and properly handle classified materials.
• Knowledge of procedures, forms, information, and confidentiality requirements related to sensitive personal information, security investigation and access requests and submittal processes to appropriate government agency/organizations.
• Submit personnel visit request.
• Knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with specific security function to recognize, locate, and enter data/information; support office and security operations: and develop and provide a variety of documents and reports. This includes: visitor control, access control, personnel security, security training, and other security programs administration.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a diverse group of individuals, using a high degree of tact and diplomacy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The candidate must be a US Citizen.
• Must obtain a US DoD security clearance.
• Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions. and accomplish multiple ongoing projects; and ability to locate, assemble, and compose information for reports, inquiries, and technical correspondence. This includes letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
• This may be a designated Drug Testing Position.
