Key Responsibilities The Senior Claims Analyst is responsible for the daily management of claims for all lines of insurance coverage through resolution, with an emphasis on workers' compensation. This includes making decisions about claim direction, evaluating losses, and negotiating settlement. This role will serve as the claims subject matter expert and primary contact in Corporate Insurance & Risk Management, liaising with third-party administrators (TPA), internal customers, attorneys, and other third parties throughout the claims management process. This position will develop robust processes and initiatives to drive optimal outcomes for the company. This individual will manage claims communication between internal and external teams and negotiate favorable outcomes on behalf of Nordson. This role may support with broader departmental tasks as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- File and manage claims. Collaborate with external brokers and carriers to resolve coverage questions for internal teams.
- Manage approvals for claim reserves and settlements.
- Manage claims process and administrative functions for all claims.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of illness and Injury reports and workers compensation forms.
- Provide training to ensure understanding of processes and timely reporting.
- Coordinate with clinics and health care providers to ensure proper processing of claims
- Acts as liaison between internal and external teams.
- Develop and implement claims processes and training programs.
- Partners and manage processes, relationships, and agreement with Nordson's TPA.
- Ensure injured employees receive proper medical treatment and follow up care.
- Work with management and TPAs to facilitate the return of injured employees to work.
- Review open claims and monitors reserves
- Assess reserve changes and settlement recommendations.
- Analyze data to support loss control initiatives.
- Organize and lead claim review meetings, vendor meetings and other training programs
- Works within a team environment to accomplish departmental goals and company goals
- Monitors and responds to mail and email daily, follows up appropriately and in a timely matter
- Communicate regularly with business unit operations regarding work comp metrics and costs.
- Adhere to state specific workers' compensation requirements. Keep current State laws affecting claims, specifically Workers Compensation claims.
- Prepare and manage annual self-insurance filings and renewal applications.
- Ensure proper maintenance of claim files.
- Review and process loss funding invoices.
- Assist with project initiatives and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, Insurance, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years' experience handling large employer claims.
- Expertise in handling multi-state WC claims, preferably in manufacturing.
- Experience in self-insured and insured programs.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Preferred experience working in insurance risk/claims for larger organizations.
