Job Description

The Center for Child Well-Being in the School of Medicine is seeking a coach to join the Early Childhood - Positive Behavioral Support (ECPBS) program.

EC-PBS offers foundational trainings, onsite coaching, and parenting support groups to childcare programs in Boone County. The goal of the program is to increase caregivers' capacity to build relationships with children, promote social-emotional development, reduce challenging behaviors, and promote kindergarten readiness.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Become trained and proficient in the Pyramid Model and the evidence-based practices associated with the framework.
- Become trained and proficient in a variety of developmental screening tools.
- Model social-emotional strategies.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and peers.
- Engage in collaboration with educators to facilitate the coaching process with shared goals and action planning, focused observation and documentation, and feedback and reflection
- Complete timely and accurate documentation of coaching and program activities according to best practice, Sponsor requirements, and Center for Child Well-Being standards.
- Collect, track, and report program data/forms to evaluator and/or program coordinator on a monthly and ongoing basis.
- Provide programs and families support, guidance, and access to appropriate community resources
- Collaborate with other Center for Child Well-Being programs and community teams
- Engage in monthly reflective supervision, program meetings, and team meetings with Center for Child Well-Being site staff.

Shift

(expected/anticipated) Primarily Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm.

Occasional evening and weekend hours to accommodate events in the community (approximately 3-5 times per month).

Ability for daily travel to assigned Boone County childcare programs; other duties will be completed at the Center for Child Well-Being.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience as an early childhood educator with responsibilities including, but not limited to, caring for children, designing the classroom environment, planning activities, and family engagement.
* Experience and or knowledge of the Pyramid Model
* Familiarity of Boone County resources involving children and families
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Knowledge and education in typical and atypical social/emotional development of young children 0-6.
* Strong proficiency working with and/or mastering technology platforms (ex: RedCap, Zoom, Canva, MS Office Suite)

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $21.28 - $26.87 / hour
