Job Summary: The Manager, Scientific Communications and Digital Engagement, a key role within Medical Affairs, will serve as a pivotal cross-functional partner responsible for spearheading support for Medical Affairs (MA) strategic digital engagement initiatives, actively contributing to the creation and dissemination of digital scientific content in the marketplace. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the digital content resonates with our target audience and fosters meaningful scientific engagement. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Executes the digital content engagement strategy within Medical Affairs to amplify the reach and impact of Supernus' publications and other scientific initiatives.
- Leads efforts to identify and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing visibility and engagement of healthcare practitioners (HCP) with scientific content distributed across digital channels.
- Partners with Supernus' publications team to support the creation of digital scientific content that aligns with strategic imperatives, regulatory standards, and company policies.
- Collaborates closely with Supernus' digital team to oversee website integration, ensuring the optimization of educational resources and fostering awareness within the healthcare community.
- Engages in cross-functional collaboration with colleagues in publications, MA, digital, IT, and other departments to conceptualize, design, and deploy a dedicated Medical Affairs website, develop digital content, and evaluate opportunities for future omnichannel expansion.
- Supports the generation and dissemination of digital insights and impact metrics across the wider Supernus organization.
- Remains informed of digital innovation and technology trends, offering insights and recommendation for integrating new tools, services, technologies, vendors, and methodologies to elevate our digital footprint.
- Conducts assessments and comparative analyses of available online educational and customer experiences and functional services provided by Medical Affairs teams across the broader industry to inform future initiatives.
- Applies creativity and innovation to the development of scientific content (e.g., videographic, infographic) that dynamically communicates a scientific story to key external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with commercial colleagues to capture and monitor the adoption, impact, and influence of digital educational initiatives on Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and Digital Opinion Leader (DOL) engagement.
- Utilizes data-driven insights and analytics to formulate recommendations aimed at optimizing and enhancing our multichannel engagement strategy.
- Engages with field medical teams to gather scientific insights to inform the development of impactful digital content aimed at driving external scientific engagement.
- Facilitate the development and approval of scientific materials, such as medical slide decks, scientific videos, and podcasts, for inclusion on the MA website.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Knowledge & Other Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in life sciences and a minimum of five years of relevant experience is required, or a master's degree and four years of experience. Advanced degree is preferred (PharmD, PhD).
- Excellent communication (oral, written, and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter, hard-working and independent.
- Proficient in managing external vendors and providing clear, concise guidance.
- Experience in scientific communications.
- Experience in managing websites or portals designed to deliver scientific content to HCPs.
- Understanding of fundamental digital tactics, technologies, and data integration tools, encompassing areas such as websites, SEO/SEM, media strategies, social media, CRM systems, analytics, digital field tools.
- Experience with digital analytics tools, common digital media tactics (e.g., paid search, display/DSPs, endemic/native advertising), and an understanding of website construction and maintenance processes.
- Comprehensive understanding of healthcare industry trends and the evolving landscape of digital delivery methods for disseminating scientific information to healthcare practitioners.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, data privacy, and industry standards related to digital content dissemination.
- Ability to understand, integrate and synthesize insights across customers, industry peers, therapeutic or business areas and markets to inform customer-centric digital engagement plans.
- Ability to summarize complex medical and scientific information using terms and concepts that are relevant and appropriate for different audiences.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:
- Sedentary work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or carrying objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen, iPad, or other electronic device; and extensive reading.
- The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Compensation: At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions. The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $130,000.00 - $146,000.00. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual's salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs. Base salary is one part of the overall compensation package, which includes the opportunity to participate in employee stock purchase programs and performance-based bonus programs.
