Job Description |
The purpose of this position is to receive process and post payments; and provide assistance to students and college personnel. This is accomplished by assisting patrons of the cashier's office; accepting and posting payments to the appropriate accounts; organizing bank deposits; closing out cashier sessions; balancing payments; maintaining spreadsheets of payment activity; downloading and posting various types of payments; and maintaining all paperwork. Other duties include selling event tickets; answering phone calls; and assisting and directing all callers as appropriate.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Education |
A high school diploma or
GED |
Required Experience |
Minimum of 1 year cashier and customer service experience, including experience preparing processing payments and preparing bank deposits. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities |
- Ability to effectively communicate with students and other members of the public to provide accurate information regarding billing, student account details and refunds.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to billing discrepancies and other account inquiries.
- Ability to assist students with reviewing their accounts and answer questions related to account holds and account balances.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, Teams, and SharePoint.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Previous experiece working experience in higher education
- knowledge of Ellucian Banner
- Bachelor Degree of higher

General Weekly Work Schedule |
Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m., with availability to work 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. shift depending on staffing needs. Must be able to work occasional evening hours until 7 p.m. during peak enrollment times. |
