Job Summary: (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned) Manages database utilities and monitors the relationships between the database users and applications. Applies understanding of relational database concepts and query languages in order to design required summary or aggregation tables to support analysis. Liaises with technology/infrastructure staff and identifies data relationships with functional requirements. Maintains the organization's databases across multiple platforms and computing environments. Analyzes and resolves issues related to information flow and content. Monitors data architecture standards and conventions. Maintains database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, recovery and backup procedures. Develops and enforces standards for database use. Performs data modeling studies and develops detailed data models. Maintains data model and entity relationship diagrams. Monitors database space usage and performance. Researches, collects, and reports information on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment. Aids in the design and development of equipment and systems, and redesign of existing systems to fulfill the needs of customers. Responsibilities also include providing equipment functionality and capability reports to the sales force and acting as technical liaison to the sales team. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 6-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager. Job Responsibilities
