DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerk Typist 2, you will be tasked with providing clerical support to various departments to ensure timely transmittal or processing of information, efficient organization of department data, and professional courtesy to office callers and visitors. You will have the opportunity to assist caseworkers, supervisors, and the Executive Director verify information while transcribing reports, referrals, meeting minutes, court orders, and correspondence. Work involves receptionist duties such as answering phone calls, screening calls, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries or complaints to the appropriate staff members. Additional responsibilities include:
- Updating records and filing systems
- Interviewing clients to gather information for court appointments
- Processing mail for court related materials
- Tracking and entering data
- Scanning agency records
- Reviewing referrals for accuracy and completeness
- Recording expunctions
- Completing searches and logs to comply with fostering connection requirements

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
- Any combination of equivalent experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Schuylkill County. If no eligible candidates who live within Schuylkill County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
