Overview

The EEG Technologist in Training is responsible for applying EEGs, conducting studies, and performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting in line with facility policies and procedures. They carry out tasks appropriate to their level of competence and training under general technical supervision.

Graduate of CAAHEP Accredited NDT Program or Associate's Degree within three (3) years.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

Licenses/Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements

Organizational ability necessary. Ability to communicate effectively and work corroboratively with others. Ability to accept and institute feedback. Ability to demonstrate technical knowledge and skills essential.


Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Cleans and disinfects equipment with appropriate solutions. Follows infection control policies.

Completes EEGs and LTMs.

Documents appropriate data in patient chart and lab files.

Explains tests, procedures to patients in order to obtain optimal results.

Performs accurate documentation.

Performs all types of EEGs to include bedside, electrical cerebral silence and standard lab EEGs.

Prepares patients for examinations and procedures. Provides patient with instructions/explanations as needed. Understands and communicates based on age-appropriate information.

Troubleshoots equipment, follows division policy to arrange repair service when indicated.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $18per hour - $18per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
