XQ Project Manager

Altorfer Power, a leading Caterpillar dealer specializing in the sales and service of engines, generator sets, and associated equipment, is seeking a dynamic candidate for the position of XQ Project Manager. The XQ Project Manager is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency through the coordination of Altorfer's Packaging Team and Commercial Service Team. This role involves reviewing potential XQ Rental Packages and Generator Sets to ensure program compatibility, coordinating with outside machine shops, service shops, and generator refurbishment shops, tracking units and components, driving process improvements, and handling invoicing responsibilities. The Project Manager will work directly with the General Manager of Packaging and the General Manager of Product Support to ensure a smooth workflow and that project performance expectations are met. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and software knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Review potential units for refurbishment, ensure configuration compatibility, determine program acceptance
• Review incoming teardown assessment of unit and modify instructions to refurbishment teams accordingly.
• Maintain engine overhaul instructions, overhaul parts kit lists, and program documents, as needed.
• Open workorders, communicate with parts department to ensure engine overhaul parts are ordered
• Schedule Service Shop for engine overhaul, and deliver special instructions as needed.
• Maintain SharePoint Schedule and Ensure Packaging POD(production mgt. system) is up to date with current status notes and dates.
• Track overall unit refurb production status including engine overhaul status, generator refurbishment status, and Packaging on line status.
• Coordinate drop-off and pick-up of units with Service Shops and Packaging operation.
• Coordinate between Packaging engineering team and service for component, configuration, and process questions.
• Coordinate machine shop and redi-strip work for Service Shops. Process outside invoices for payment and update work orders accordingly.
• Invoice Completed overhauls within 10 days of Last Labor and communicate Adder Charges to appropriate personnel. Acquire pre-approval of high-dollar Adder Charges.
• Participate in Post-Overhaul Review. Coordinate Post-Overhaul Repairs with Service during Test/Post-Production at Packaging.
• Follow-Up with Service Departments and Packaging Quality Department on Quality Issues for Process Improvement.
• Other duties, as assigned.

• Engine, generator and electrical knowledge preferred.
• Prior experience with Caterpillar or other branded rental generator sets preferred.
• Proficiency with software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and other software platforms is required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data in clear, actionable formats.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate).
• Commitment to safety protocols, including the ability to wear required safety equipment.

Payrate: $50,000 - $70,000 annually

This position works primarily in an office environment but also frequently in a warehouse or shop environment. The role may involve sitting at a desk for extended periods, answering telephone calls, and using a keyboard to communicate. The noise level in the shop environment is usually moderate, while it is typically low in the office. Flexibility to work varying schedules and hours as needed is essential.
