Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Supplier Development & Partnerships is part of Compass One at Amazon the Central Leadership Team (CLT) and will be focused on supporting the national account management arm for Canteen, the largest and most experienced food and retail service company in the United States. This is an opportunity to influence the food and beverage program for our client, a global Fortune 5 tech company. This role will report to the VP of Diversity & Inclusion for Compass One, with a dotted line to Canteen One Client Services leadership team.

The Senior Manager of Supplier Diversity will be responsible for developing and implementing the supplier diversity strategy and program in alignment with client goals and priorities. This person will work in conjunction with Compass One and Canteen's cross-functional teams to implement and report on various supplier engagement initiatives in alignment with client goals and priorities.

This is a hybrid role with location options in Washington D.C.-metro/Northern Virginia, NYC, Nashville, TN, and Austin, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage strategy to support supplier development initiatives in alignment with company and client goals. This includes program scoping and timelines, prioritization, client updates, executing day-to-day activities of the project.
  • Serve as point of contact and thought leader to client's Category and Supplier Development & Impact teams.
  • Oversee and manage initiatives to increase the utilization of local and small businesses in key business areas supporting food and hospitality, consumer goods, and facilities services.
  • Collaborate with Canteen's Supplier Diversity and Compass One Sustainability teams to leverage resources and partner on initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure an inclusive process for incorporating suppliers in relevant opportunities.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of the supplier development program, utilizing data to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders across Compass Group.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Hospitality, or related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of professional experience in client services, project or program management.
  • Experience in supplier diversity strongly preferred including regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Must be a self-starter, comfortable taking initiative, and results oriented.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver results.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and experience driving continuous improvement.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including presenting to executives and clients.
  • Experience analyzing data and information to drive decision-making.
  • Must be adaptable and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to influence without authority; comfortable managing up and across the organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.

Preferred Skills:

  • Project Management or large-scale strategy deployment
  • Familiarity with supplier diversity certifications and reporting practices (e.g., Tier 1, Tier 2)
  • Client services experience
  • Knowledge of fulfilment centers or field operations
