The Department of Radiological Sciences is dedicated to conducting leading-edge research, providing the highest quality clinical education and delivering state-of-the-art care to our patients through the advanced diagnosis and treatment of disease through biomedical research. The department performs approximately 200,000 radiological exams per year through the utilization of all imaging modalities which include conventional radiography, angiography, ultrasonography, CT, MRI and nuclear Medicine.Our department scientists and physicians are constantly working to develop new technologies and imaging techniques that will become the medical imaging examinations and medical interventions of tomorrow. The department has 7 imaging modalities with 32 faculty and 23 staff.


Your Role on the Team

Under the general supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer in the Department of Radiological Sciences, the incumbent is responsible for the overall financial management of the departmental budget, financial analysis, reporting and long range planning of all department accounts. Incumbent will work and assist the CAO and Chairman during budget cycle and fiscal year end as well as throughout the academic year with financial processes and reporting as requested and needed. Reports include but not limited to SOM budget variance report, non-salary expense trending and analysis, clinical integration analysis and reporting, clinical effort variances and all other reports as assigned and requested by School of Medicine. Incumbent provides supervisory oversight of finance staff that are completing purchasing requisitions and reimbursements for the Department. Incumbent also provides supervisory oversight of the admin team providing fiscal support to the basic science research faculty.Incumbent maintains accurate records and documentation in support of all purchases and reimbursements for audit purposes. Incumbent is responsibilities include extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures as they pertain to financial reporting, financial analysis, procurement, accounting, basic contract and grant regulations, and business rules. This position requires sound communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills which are often within a team environment

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing clearly and concisely.
  • Working knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills at all levels within the unit; excellent service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability using spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
  • Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize, and perform basic financial analysis assignments.
  • Strong computer skills using MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills:

  • Working knowledge of UCI Kuali Financial Systems and Decision Support desired
Education:
  • Three (3) to five (5) years with a BA/BS and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
