Georgia State University, Dean of Students, is searching for an outstanding candidate to fill the role of Coordinator, Judicial Affairs. This position supports the Office of the Dean of Students efforts in educating individual students and upholding community standards at Georgia State University. As part of the University's centralized student conduct approach, this position serves as one of the university's student conduct officers resolving non-academic student conduct cases. Adhering to the University System of Georgia requirements, the incumbent completes formal and informal investigations of alleged conduct violations. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Students, the incumbent administers the Student Code of Conduct and relevant policies and provides student conduct support to our residential community when needed.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

* Serves as an administrative hearing officer for alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct and other relevant policies.

* Provides resolution of alleged violations of student misconduct through formal and informal processes; and serves as a student conduct hearing officer, which includes the investigation and disposition of general conduct matters and facilitating various appeal processes.

* *Adhering to the University System of Georgia requirements, completes formal and informal investigations of alleged conduct violations, including Title IX/Sexual Misconduct, hazing, incidents that may result in suspension or expulsions, or any case involving a threat of harm against another university community member.

* Serves as a resource person for faculty, staff, students, and the Office of the Dean of Students to respond to a wide variety of inquiries related to student conduct and academic integrity issues.

* Assists in managing and maintaining appropriate student conduct tracking systems to maintain student conduct records, monitor student compliance with student conduct directives and sanctions, and to compile student conduct data trends.

* Supervises, trains, and evaluate graduate/undergraduate student employees and/or interns.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

* Knowledge of the University Student Code of Conduct, University procedures and protocols, and University Housing Community Living Standards.

* Experience developing and implementing strategic planning and outcome-driven assessment efforts. Knowledge of student development strategies, including restorative justice.

* Experience dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.

* Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.

* Ability to act independently and use good judgment in solving common problems.
